On Saturday, April 10, 2004, Hoosier Park Racetrack hosted the 11th running of the prestigious Dan Patch Invitational.
The Dan Patch Invitational was named after one of the greatest harness racing pacers of all time who originally hailed from Indiana, Dan Patch.
Post time is scheduled for 9:41 PM EST.
To help honour this special event, Hoosier Park Racetrack will be holding a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Madison County Humane Society of local Anderson, Indiana.
The society is a non-profit organisation, which relies solely on membership fees, fundraisers and the generous contributions from the local community.
As a ‘no kill’ facility committed to finding good loving homes for stray, lost, unwanted, abandoned, abused and neglected animals, they are dedicated to promoting the quality of life for domestic animals, educating the community of the humane care and treatment of all animals and furthering the bond between people and animals.
Donations are always appreciated and can be sent directly to:
Madison County Humane Society, PO Box 637, Anderson Indiana 46015.
Hoosier Park has also produced ‘Dan Patch Bobble heads’ to help commemorate the event.
The first 1500 paid admissions aged 18 and up will receive this specially designed figurine made of poly-resin with the sulky made of metal with rubber wheels.
The bobble head is seven inches high and is mounted on a ½ inch base.
