LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The new face in University of Kentucky Basketball belongs to UK men's head basketball coach Tubby Smith. The Tubby Smith Virtual Bobblehead, an animated software version of the 2003 Coach of the Year, will be unveiled during the UK-Florida basketball game on March 7th.

Over 24,000 CDs of the Tubby Smith Virtual Bobblehead will be distributed to fans attending the game. The animated bobble head software includes a fluid bobble motion and sound effects, resides on the computer desktop and provides links to related websites. Beginning March 7th, fans may also download the Tubby Smith Virtual Bobblehead for free by logging on to UKAthletics.com .

Clicking on the Tubby Smith Virtual Bobblehead launches fans to the University of Kentucky Athletics Association website, UK Men's Basketball site and Extreme Access, a UK site that offers video and audio of games, coaches' shows and press conferences.

An additional click plays the UK fight song and unfurls the university's seven NCAA championship banners during a fireworks celebration. Bobbling the head a set number of times displays facts and highlights about the men's basketball program. Coach Smith's name plate rotates and his clothing changes and morphs from a business suit to a warm up
suit.

The product was developed by ProMotionWare, a division of Computer Training Solutions, Inc. of Lexington, Ky. In October, the company released another Virtual Bobblehead during Big Blue Madness depicting UK women's head basketball coach Mickie DeMoss.
